A wonderful organic reboot

It's 2009 Ya'll and already I feel change a comin'. Obama is in position to lead with the bonus of being smart, funny and overall sexy. Yeah for us America!

So it's time to pull it together, personally that is. Make decisions to make commitments and to let shit go.

So my first commitment is to let this 12 pounds go that I've amassed over the last 4 months.

Weapons of choice: Exercise and this easy diet I found on Tim Feriss' blog. I'll check in with you shortly to tell you about week one.

While doing this new diet and exercise plan, I'll be getting my financials in order. Seriously, this is LONG over due. Decisions to make and commitments to live by. Seriously. This includes options of kicking into high gear at the job, love it right now or not.

THIS begins NOW.

The Violation

On Sunday night, in the weee hours of the morning, a burglar entered my apt. Neither I nor my two dogs awoke. I realize that its a good thing we didn't. It could have been worse, but thank God all that they stole was my lap top.

The Lord granted Mercy on me and spared me bodily harm. But I am shook to say the least.

So much that I don't even want to speak on it anymore.

Working it through

Wow I've been on the phone all freaking day. Today was a brutally long day, spent right here in this chair. From here, I've peered into this computer screen for approximately (ooh wait! there's my lucky number on the computer clock! 112!! I see that number on a daily basis!!)...ok, so I peered into this screen for approximately 8 hours today. So what the f%&k am I still typing.

I'm going to bed.

Hung out and hung over

I attended a PAR-TAY last night and wow, had soooo much fun. A friend of a friend celebrated her birthday at a the new "in" venue in the city called Taj. I felt sexy, hair was rockin' and donned my new favorite halter swing dress. D. Nice was the dj and the music was great from the very beginning, playing classic Hip Hop, R&B and House! Another party was going on next to our booth, a well known producer was turning 40. In walks Diddy and his associates, perching next to the producer. The liquor really began to flow at that point and the greens made their way over to our group... The whole crowd was grooving and I danced the night away in my 3 inch Besty Johnson tastefully done platform stripper shoes.

I left the spot around 1:30, feet blazing and very very buzzed. Too buzzed to drive so my friend Butta drove Bella & I home since he only lives a few blocks away from me. I went straight to bed after popping two Aleve and drinking a big glass of water to get ahead of the hangover.

It kinda worked, but I was still a little beat up when I awoke this morning. But I had a smile on my face as I laid in bed and replayed scenes of the party in my head. That was a great party. The lil' hang over was well worth it.

REFRESH

For starters, it's mid-July. Hot as Haiti. It's been 6 months since I last posted. The entries up until then have all been about my struggle to lose this frinken 10 pounds. Well, I've lost 5. That adds up to not even a pound per month!! Truthfully, I'm in a better place because I've been working out so the muscle mass is definitely showing and my clothes are fitting better. I am a true size 10 right now, really with almost an 8 waist. The hips and ass make me the 10. The perfect 10.

I'm feeling so sexy these days and my self confidence is up. I've started going out again, not on dates, but with friends. Just getting my ass to leave the house is a big deal. But lately, I've been to some really great house parties, birthday parties, reggae clubs, bars & restaurants. I've decided to get the best out of another NYC summer.

Questionable Commitment

This week has flown by. I can't believe it's Friday already!

Let me start by saying this:
I've not blogged at all but it was on my to do list. I've never had a blog admittedly because of the commitment level you really need to make it worthwhile. But I do like it. So I'm going to manage my expectations and blog a minimum of once a week.

Here's what's happening now. I'm on the Master Cleanse. I decided I'd do it for 5 days. Then I got word yesterday that I'd be attending a client dinner at the end of next week. That would take the cleanse right up to the dinner, which is not ideal because I'll want to eat. You know client dinners - we eat well. And I can't imagine what I'd do. Just sit there and drink my lemonade? Hmm. Na, but I still had to do the cleanse because I'd committed to it a couple of weeks ago.

So I started yesterday, Thursday. I've done this before, so I had the grade B maple syrup, Cayenne and purchased many many lemons. I have a small Cuisinart juicer and a nice size portable container for the concaution. I love the taste of the lemonade.

Day One & Two were a success. But wait, I have to say that I "cheated". I did have a light plate @ 7pm last night. Chickpeas, roasted asparagus and steamed broccoli. Not bad. I drank the Smooth Move and @ 5:30, 6:45 & 7:00, my little dinner was history. The cramps were payback for it though.

Did NOT do the saltwater flush when I woke up because I didn't feel like worrying about the state of my intestines on the dog walk or worse, on the subway during morning rush hour. However, I am going to do it tomorrow since it's Sat morning.

SIDE BAR: The boy called tonight. Said some things that stressed me and it made me want to eat. He knows I'm turning a corner. Things a no where where they once were. I still love him as a man and a friend, but R. Kelly said it..."when a woman's fed up..."

And the work place. Wow, it's very busy right now. But I do have plans to make a very big move soon, so I know this is par for the course. Everything is. But I don't have to make food the putty that holds it all together.

So between prayer, my lemonade and really working on strengthening my commitment, I can do this.

PG-13 part
Moving matter already. Stomach is flatter and I feel good and it's day two. Lost 4 pounds, mostly water weight, but I'll take it!

let's see how this goes...
